How much should I spend on a projector?

I'm a Young Life (Youth Group) leader and we've been using overhead slides for years. I want to switch to a projector. The main use will be showing PowerPoints with song lyrics while we play music and watching videos. However if I'm spending a lot of money I may as well be able to watch movies on it too. Any help would be great. I'm looking for a price and a brand if possible.
