I have an old xbox 360 please help.?

my xbox is from when it first came out and ive been playing it on a projector and latley ( i think its the xbox) would freeze and i would reset the xbox. But ever since i got my new tv (2 days ago) it hasnt froze. Is this a coinciednce or does playing on a tv make it easier on the xbox then on a projector
