What's wrong with my projector?

I bought an Epson Moviemate 62 projector from the United States, but it runs on 110 volts. When I used it in the Philippines, I used a voltage transformer that converts it from 110 to 220 volts (standard voltage for our country). It worked fine until 15 minutes later, the picture started flickering and the lamp went out. What could be possibly wrong and how could i fix this problem?
