Help with my Optoma Pico Projector PK301?

I just bought a refurbished Optoma Pico Projector but I don't know how to adjust the colors, if that's possible. From the projector itself, everything looks clear even from the memory card, but when I connect the laptop via VGA cable, everything is dim, a little blurry and the everything is in shades of green, blue and gray. No red, orange, etc.I haven't tried the mini hdmi cable because I don't have it yet, so I don't know whether I should return it or if i have to adjust something. I just can't figure it out, I need help. If anyone owns this model and could give me a tip, I'd really appreciate it, thank you for your time.
